Medication Management

What is Medication Management?

Following formal evaluation (i.e., psychiatric evaluation) by a licensed and trained psychiatric medical professional, medication may be recommended to assist individuals in better managing their symptoms and thus, improving their daily ability to function. When medication is recommended and prescribed, symptoms, safety, and progress are monitored with routine medication management follow-up appointments. Appointments are most often once per month though may be recommended more frequently based on treatment needs. Types of mental health (or psychiatric) medical providers include

  • Nurse practitioners (CRNP-PMH)
  • Physician assistants (PA-C)
  • Psychiatrists (MD)
